         Diabetes mellitus or diabetes is caused by the body's inability to produce insulin,diabetes is an incurable disease but can be managed efficiently.If left untreated can cause long term health problems and can lead to an early death.There are various types of diabetes namely:

-Symptoms may be similar to those of type 1 diabetes but are often less marked.As  a result,the disease may be diagnosed several years after onset.

GESTATIONAL DIABETES
    This type of diabetes is when blood glucose values above normal,it can increase a woman's risk for getting type 2 diabetes after pregnancy and usually runs in families.Therefore,exposing the children too.Gestational diabetes is diagnosed through prenatal screening rather than through reported symptoms.

-The global prevalence of diabetes among adults over 18 years of age has risen from 4.7% in 1980-8.5% in 2014.

-Healthy diet,regular physical activity,maintaining a normal body weight and avoiding tobacco use are ways to prevent or delay the onset of type 2 diabetes.
